Ideally situated 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and 70 miles north of Charleston, the community is located on one of the most charming and historic islands on the East coast. Recently completed was a new assisted living building and the addition of a new wellness center - complete with state-of-the-art cardio equipment and an indoor pool.

MDS Coordinator is responsible for the development, maintenance and implementation of the standards of nursing practice and objectives as it relates to the Minimum Data Set requirements and with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. This position develops a proposed plan of care in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team ensuring that the plan of care is consistent with the current health assessment for every resident under the supervision of the Director of Nursing Services.

Director of Nursing establishes and implements standards of resident care throughout the healthcare system on a 24-hour basis. This position oversees all nursing aspects, directing and evaluating all nursing personnel providing resident centered care within the skilled nursing and assisted living environment. Operates the healthcare components in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations, while coordinating nursing service with community agencies, physicians, families, residents, consultants, ancillary service providers and other departments within the campus and under the direction of the Director of Health Administration.

The RCD establishes and implements standards of resident care throughout assisted living and memory care on a 24-hour basis. This position oversees all direct care aspects, directing and evaluating of direct care personnel providing person centered care within the assisted living and memory care environments. The RCD will deliver person centered care based on the needs and interests of the residents while preserving their dignity and quality of life. The RCD oversees and provides support for the activities of daily living; including, but are not limited to, dining, housekeeping, and life enrichment, which are a part of the residents’ daily choices. The RCD is part of the care plan team and oversees implementation and evaluation of resident assessments and individualized care plans using the web-based program Vigilan. This position oversees the documentation for residents in their neighborhoods, assigns residents to nursing assistants as needed and assists in the medication management and overall healthcare programs for the residents in a neighborhood. The RCD operates healthcare services to be compliant with federal, state and local regulations. The RCD coordinates and works with community agencies, physicians, families, residents, consultants, ancillary service providers and other departments within the community under the guidance of the Healthcare Administrator/Executive Director.

Senior Living Communities conducts thorough pre-screenings for all new hires upon employment and continues to uphold the following policies throughout the duration of employment. These policies are to protect the safety of our residents, employees, visitors and contractors.
- Drug-Free Workplace. We drug test all new employees upon hire. Random and reasonable suspicion drug screenings are continued throughout employment. Drug screens are ordered for all parties involved in work-related accidents.

- Criminal Checks. We conduct thorough background checks on all new hires and analyze all convictions, including misdemeanors. A conviction of a crime will not necessarily disqualify an applicant from employment. Failure to indicate a conviction, regardless of the recency or severity, will be considered a falsification, which is a disqualifier from further consideration, and if already hired, is grounds for immediate dismissal and termination of employment.
