The Lakes at Litchfield to Host Clubhouse Grand Re-opening and Artist Reception
Pawleys Island, S.C., January 15, 2008- The Lakes at Litchfield, an all-inclusive retirement community located in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, is pleased to announce a grand re-opening of the newly remodeled clubhouse on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 from 2 - 3:30 p.m. An Artist Reception featuring the exceptional artwork of Barnie Slice, a local artist and instructor at Coastal Carolina University, will follow the ceremony.
The renovations to the clubhouse included converting the library/living room to Plantation Hall, a beautifully appointed social area conducive to card playing, happy hour meetings, board games and casual gatherings. A granite topped bar was added with ample storage space for bar supplies and games.
The craft room was renovated and newly named "The SweetGrass Craft Room", while the old card room was renamed "The Gathering Room" and now features a floating floor, mirrors and exercise bars to enhance wellness classes. It was designed to double as a Theater allowing for seating up to 70 people with stackable chairs to easily convert the space. A large retractable screen and projection system was installed along with a sound system to enable the community host events with speakers, educational and travel programs along with movies.
The mail room was turned into an internet café and named "The Turner Internet Café" after Ralph Turner, one of our resident volunteers. It hosts two computers, built in storage space and desks and will serve as an intimate meeting area for coffee and tea.
Each area received new flooring, wallpaper and/or paint was Plantation shutters were placed in all windows in these areas.
In addition, the private dining room was renamed "The Low Country Private Dining Room".
