Care Services Lifestyle Advisor Takes Home Highest Honor

The Supernova Award is the highest individual honor that our company gives and each year. One individual on the leadership team at The Lakes at Litchfield is voted by their colleagues as the community’s Supernova based on an assortment of criteria. Supernova award ceremony

Interview with 2022 Director of the Year, Ashley Evans

Congratulations on being chosen as a Supernova! How do you feel?

I am honored to be chosen as The Lakes at Litchfield Supernova! It meant the world to me to hear what our team thinks about me! Then when the word got out to our community the emails, texts, and calls from our Members and their family members started and that has just been icing on the cake!

What’s your favorite part about your position?

It’s the relationships that I have built with our residents and their families! I took care of my Aunt Grace in my home for 8 years and now I take care of everyone else’s aunt! I understand the needs of the influencer because I lived it myself! I love helping them through the challenges and celebrating the successes!

What do you want people to know about working in a retirement community?

It isn’t sad! So many people say “oh that would be sad, losing so many people.” I am fulfilled by the work I do! I know that I am making a difference every day by bringing a smile, alleviating a fear, celebrating a success or birthday or anniversary! There is joy every day here!

What is your favorite thing about working for Senior Living Communities?

WOW! This company is truly amazing and I don’t just say that! I am connected to this company more than I have ever been with any other! Senior Living Communities and Live Long Well Care does it right! I feel supported and appreciated and empowered! I get to do what I love everyday with people that love it as much as I do!

What’s a quote or inspirational words that influence/impact you and why?

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain!” and “I cannot change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails!”

I love them both and the meaning is basically the same! Life is hard sometimes, and it isn’t always fair, but how we react is within our control. I have been through some really great and some really hard times in my life, but I wouldn’t be the person I am today without those experiences. I am thankful for everything that I have faced, good and bad, to get me to where I am today!
