2025 Silver Pen Winners

The Lakes at Litchfield is proud to announce the winners of the 2025 Silver Pen Competition. On May 15th 2025, The Lakes at Litchfield hosted the two winners and their friends and families for an awards dinner. There, they were presented with $3,750 cash prizes. The essay topic for 2025 was as follows:

Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

The Lakes at Litchfield Members who made up the judging panel also selected the essay topic. The Silver Pen Writing Competition is an essay competition that The Lakes at Litchfield’s parent company, The Maxwell Group, started in 2012 to bridge the communication gap between high school seniors and community Members. Each participant submitted a written essay with a minimum of 1,000 words. Over the past eleven years, they have award these scholarships to high school seniors to help differ tuition cost.
