Lakes Fancy Hat Ladies Afternoon Tea – Jan 29th
On January 29, 2021, the ladies of The Lakes had the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon tea time with one another. During this special event, they agreed to wear their fanciest hats! It was a lot of fun to have a truly posh tea time with beautiful finger foods and a wide assortment of tea!
Lakes Home Brew Club
Throughout 2021, The Lakes at Litchfield’s newest and most popular club, the Home Brew Crew met to socialize, brew, and toast over their creations. Participants of this group worked closely with the Dining Services team to learn the process of brewing and prepared India Pale Ales (IPAs), Amber Ales, and a Pale Ale! The entire crew has been proud of their creations and has enjoyed sharing this new hobby with the rest of the community!
Lakes Valentines Day Dinner – Feb 17th
On February 17th, Members of The Lakes gathered for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner celebration! Friends and couples gathered to celebrate and enjoyed a white table cloth, upscale dining experience with a custom menu created by the community’s culinary talent. Each of the ladies who attended received long-stemmed roses, while the hit menu item of the evening was the strawberry “Love Shakes” – YUM!
Wild Wild West Signature Experience
From line dancing, denim sporting, barbecue, and bull riding, Members of The Lakes spent DATE in the Wild West (Signature Experience). The day began with line dancing as Members grabbed their boots and hit the dance floor. Attendees loved the challenge of dancing with heavier boots on and learned how to do some of the most popular line dances. Later in the day, these cowboys and girls stepped outdoors to find a mechanical bull! We had a few brave cowboys/girls step up to the challenge to see how long they could hang on! It was a wild ride, but they all did such a great job! To close out the day as the sunshine receded from east to west, attendees sat down for a classic outdoor barbecue. Complete with all of the fixins it was a great way to enjoy their favorite music, fellowship and perfectly prepared pork with all of the fixins!
Lakes Olympics – June

In honor of the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics, The Lakes at Litchfield hosted their own games and welcomed athletes of all skill levels to join in for the opportunity to win gold! The Lakes Olympics was a day of games, medals, and a delicious dining experience. Members started their day with a “Breakfast of Champions”! The Dining Services team prepared a unique spread of (their famous) quiche, delicious fresh fruit, yogurt with fresh fruit, and granola! Throughout the day competitors competed in a synchronized swimming competition, javelin throw and shot put events! After the competition was completed and the dust had settled, the athletes paraded into the award ceremony held in The Lakes Bistro for happy hour. Attendees enjoyed chatting with their fellow competitors, singing karaoke, and receiving their medals! The Lakes Olympics concluded with a Tokyo-inspired Japanese dinner. Hibachi was on the menu and of course – our chefs had the flare to go with it! It was a perfect day celebrating living a life filled with wellness and Team USA!
